OWENSBORO, KY – Cody and Arielle Waters are bringing a high-end grooming experience to downtown Owensboro with the upcoming launch of Mancave for Men Barbershop Owensboro, scheduled to open in March. The new barbershop will blend traditional grooming services with luxury amenities, such as bourbon, cigars, and a relaxing spa-like environment, offering men a space to unwind while elevating their grooming routines.

Located at 234 Frederica Street, Suite 2, next to Ruoff Mortgage, Mancave for Men aims to provide an elevated grooming experience for men aged 8 to 80. Founded in 2011 in Boca Raton, Florida, the franchise fills a niche between basic barbershops and upscale salons, catering to men seeking quality service and premium amenities.

“There’s nothing like this in Owensboro,” said Cody, a barber with two years of experience. “We wanted to create a space where men can relax, enjoy a haircut, and indulge in added touches like a bourbon bar and spa services.”

Luxury Meets Grooming Expertise

Mancave for Men’s offerings include haircuts in Owensboro, Hot Shaves, Beard Trims, facials, manscaping, and other spa services in an upscale 1,600-square-foot space. The barbershop will feature five barber chairs on each side, two shampoo stations, and a bourbon-themed bar in the center, with non-alcoholic options also available.

“Since Kentucky is bourbon country, we’ll focus on a bourbon bar but will offer beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages to suit everyone’s preferences,” Cody explained.

Each service includes a hot towel and shampoo to ensure clients enjoy a premium experience. Guests will also have access to a spa room for facials and other relaxation treatments, enhancing the shop’s focus on total wellness.

Aesthetic and Atmosphere

Known for its distinct aesthetic, Mancave for Men incorporates aged wood accents, leather-and-chrome barber chairs, and modern touches like flat-screen TVs to create a welcoming and stylish space. Customers are greeted with drink options, including beer, wine, coffee, and, of course, bourbon.

“It’s more than just a haircut,” Cody emphasized. “We’re creating an experience where men can relax and enjoy themselves.”

Supporting Local Talent and Community Growth

While part of a nationwide franchise with 24 locations, the Waters are committed to keeping the business rooted in Owensboro. Arielle, who has a decade of experience in the hair industry, will manage operations and bookkeeping, while the couple plans to hire 10 local barbers.

“We want this to feel like a local business,” Arielle said. “The franchise provides support with marketing, but everything else will remain local.”

The Barbershop in Owensboro will offer both appointments and walk-ins, along with membership packages for multiple visits.

“Appointments are great for busy schedules, but we want to stay flexible,” Cody said. “Whether you’re stopping by for a quick drink or a haircut, we want to make it convenient for everyone.”

The couple chose downtown Owensboro for its central location and vibrant atmosphere, aiming to attract both professionals and visitors.

“Owensboro is growing, and downtown’s foot traffic makes it the perfect spot,” Cody said. “We want to create a space that’s accessible for everyone in the community.”

The Waters are optimistic about opening the barbershop in early March, depending on the pace of construction.

“This isn’t just a place to get a haircut,” Cody concluded. “It’s about creating a space where men can relax, connect, and take some time for themselves.”
